Thank you does not even begin to convey the appreciation the Helping Horse Program would like to extend to all of the generous donors who contributed to our Emergency Fundraising effort.  It is with great joy and pride that we are able to say we now have a brand new trailer in place at the Farm.   Our new caretaker has a place to call home and is able to properly care for our horses.  It took many hours of hard work and a lot of dedication and support in order to achieve this lofty goal. 

It has been awesome and humbling to see our community come together to support the Helping Horse Program.  The Board of Directors wouldl like to thank everyone who contributed to our fundraising efforts.  We could not have done it without your support.  Although we have achieved the goal set before us, the program is always in need of donations to continue providing life changing therapy to our riders.

Helping Horse has been providing horseback riding lessons to individuals with disabilities for the past 20 years. Last year we provided over 1,000 hours of riding instruction! We expect to serve 40 riders this season. Therapeutic horseback riding has proven physical, mental, and psychological benefits for individuals with disabilities. The movement of a horse actually simulates the movement of normal human walking, and the ability to control a powerful horse is an enormous confidence builder. Some of our riders who have been non-verbal for years have spoken their first words on horseback.
